John Goodwin is an experienced middle school educator who has been engaged in innovative school design for more than 14 years. A Texas native, he received his B.S. in International Economics from Texas Tech University. His work in experiential education led him to San Diego where he earned his Masters in Education from SDSU and his administrative credential. He has led and worked at both The San Diego Cooperative Schools and Health Sciences. He is a creative and collaborative leader with extensive experience in student-centered learning, competency-based grading, and restorative practices. In addition to his current role as Director of Thrive Middle School, John enjoys exploring the world with his wife and three sons.
David Graham grew up in Boston, MA. Coming from a working-class family, he was the first generation to attend college. After graduating from Brandeis University with B.A.s in economics and political science, he went on to graduate from Northeastern University School of Law. Upon moving to San Diego, he gave up the legal profession to pursue a career in education. He previously worked at High Tech High Media Arts as an Education Specialist before moving to his current position as the Dean of Students at Thrive Public Schools' 54th Street Middle School campus.
